The GAL Program provides Wyoming's citizens with the opportunity to let us know about your experiences working with a GAL in your community. The GAL Program accepts written, formal complaints against GALs that you think may be in violation of GAL Program Rules and Policies. Please note: complaints are not anonymous.
The GAL Program reviews and investigates all formal complaints submitted against a GAL. No formal complaint will be accepted anonymously or verbally. The accused GAL will have an opportunity to respond to all complaints investigated by the GAL Program. Complaints regarding a GALs violation of Program Rules and Policies will only be accepted. Complaints involving decisions of the court or recommendations made by the GAL as basis for the orders of placement of custody of a child will not be accepted. Complaints cannot be filed against GAL Program Administrative Staff.
Further information on GAL Program Rules and Policies can be found in the Operations Tab in the left side-bar.
Data and statistics, with no identifying information, from formal complaints may be used to report annually on the GAL Program and may be used for program evaluation purposes.
Formal complaints, details, and information found during the formal complain investigation, and decisions of the GAL Program Administrator as a result of the formal complaint may be shared with GAL Program District Supervisors and Office of the State Public Defender Administration. In no circumstance, will information regarding a formal complaint be shared with individuals outside of the GAL Program.
